Social Studies Update

The eighth grade historians completed their presentations yesterday. Each team did an excellent job digging in to the sources and finding important information on their river civilization, from government, written script, religious beliefs, hierarchy, culture, architecture, and more. They’re continuing to grow their confidence in public speaking. Once presentations were finished, students took a few moments to self-assess their learning and time management. We then gathered into project groups to talk about areas of success and challenge, essential feedback for growth.

Student Council

After nominating peers several weeks ago and candidate speeches during Power Hour last Friday, Upper School elected its 2023-24 Student Council members on Tuesday. Dr. Bonebrake made the announcement during Advisory on Wednesday morning. We met as a group during lunch break on Wednesday to lay some groundwork and set regular meeting times. I’m excited to see what this team is able to accomplish this year!
