This week in Language Arts

6th grade continued their work on “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. They’re enjoying digging into to this classic work of science fiction. They completed a vocabulary assignment for the first 6 chapters and are currently working through the next few chapters. They also reviewed literary terms such as plot, setting, protagonist, and others.

7th and 8th grade completed and began presenting their presentations on the Olympian Gods. Each student was randomly assigned an Olympian God or Goddess and researched them to present that god to the class. They were tasked with covering the birth, powers, symbols, etc. of each god so that, by the end of the presentations, the entire class will be familiar with the Greek/Roman pantheon. Once the presentations are complete, we will move onto to reading some of the myths that are populated by these colorful characters.
