Social Studies Update

Students in sixth and seventh grade worked collaboratively to learn and present to their peers about ancient Egypt, China, and India. While they presented, peers had questions to answer about the different civilizations, weaving in Mesopotamia, as well. They continue to practice their listening skills, demonstrating their respect for classmates and the learning environment. Each group was also tasked with crafting a thesis to guide their presentation, demonstrating a good foundational understanding of the river civilizations they studied.

Students in eighth grade have been diligently crafting research essays that make an argument about the four river civilizations. They have a wide variety of thesis statements, and they’re asked to use several sources to make their arguments. This class will have a time of peer review on Monday.
