Celebrations of Knowledge in Language Arts

7th and 8th grade had their first assessment over the Olympian Gods this week. They reviewed, took notes, and studied diligently. I was encouraged to see them creating flash cards, quizzing each other, and developing positive study habits. 7th grade and 8th grade will diverge slightly as 8th grade moves on to myths and 7th grade stays just a bit longer with the Olympians.

6th grade finished “The Giver” this week. Many were surprised by the ending and we’ve had great discussions about how things in that universe involve many more shades of gray than meet the eye. I’m continuously impressed with the work ethic, maturity, and growth mindset on display in the 6th grade classroom. They will have analysis questions and final projects assigned after returning from Fall Break.
