This Week in Language Arts

This week we began working on our next unit that is centered around presentations. Students were randomly assigned general topics such as “Education in Finland” or “Infrastructure in Morocco.” They had limited time to research and create a short presentation related to it. Presentations are to be polished and professional as they are practicing for a time when their audience will be people they don’t know. They are to choose their approach and what important topics to cover and the presentation must be 3-5 minutes so they can practice being concise and succinct in relaying information. The goal is to help students give effective presentations with specific parameters. As presentations are a large part of the curriculum here at The Summit, this unit will help them in Language Arts, other classes, and in life!
