This week in Language Arts

This week, middle school wrapped up their “head to head presentations.” The students took this assignment very seriously and produced great work! Even though there was a “winner” in the mildly competitive assignment, most of the time it was splitting hairs between quality projects to decide. Having finished their presentations, students were given vocabulary based on “The Master of Macabre”, Edgar Allan Poe, in preparation for a short story unit for spooky season. 6th grade will be reading the classic “The Tell-Tale Heart” while 7th and 8th will be reading “The Cask of Amontillado.” Poe’s vocabulary is both advanced and archaic, giving the students a chance expand their vocabulary beyond words in everyday use today.
