Law Day 2024

We started our week with a celebration of this year’s SMBA Law Day Essay Contest winners. Congratulations to these three students for writing excellent essays responding to this year’s theme: Voices of Democracy. Students were challenged to respond to the following prompting questions:

“In 2024, the United States will hold its 60th presidential election and Americans will go to the polls to express their political views and wishes for our country. Ideas to explore:

  • Who has a voice in a democracy?
  • Citizens in a democracy use their voice by voting. What are some other ways citizens can be heard?
  • How can we make sure government remains responsive to the wishes of the people?”
