Novel Studies Continue in ELA

This week, amidst school events such as “National Day of Play” and the students’ excellent work with history bowl, students continued their work on their novel studies.

6th grade tackled some difficult vocabulary in “The Giver.” Vocabulary assignments such as these help students to not only understand key words in the text, but to grow their own vocabularies as a result. 8th grade worked on vocabulary from “Lord of the Flies,” and 7th grade worked on vocabulary from “The Outsiders.”

On Friday, each class worked on their individual projects for LAD Fair as it is fast approaching at the end of March. They are excited to showcase the original works of prose and poetry and bring some ribbons back to The Summit for their efforts!
