Sixth grade students wrapped up their unit on Rome with an examination of Roman culture and law. They’ve also taken time this week to prepare for their assessment (which takes place on Friday) over the Roman Empire. They’ve utilized their collaboration with peers, their notes, a study guide, some maps to practice geography, and Quizlet to help them in their preparation. 

Seventh and eighth grade students have also been preparing for an assessment this week. On Monday, we took advantage of the nice (windy!) weather to learn about the Industrial Revolution on the tree deck. Since then, our class days have been focused on preparation for Friday’s quiz, which covers government, economic, and cultural shifts in Early Modern Europe.

In culinary arts this week, two different students shared recipes and led the class. On Monday, we enjoyed a perfectly pan-seared, herb-encrusted lamb chop on a bed of perfectly cooked and seasoned mashed potatoes. On Wednesday, we went back to baking and enjoyed a batch of delightfully tangy snickerdoodle cookies that had every student involved in the process.
