Week 4 Math Update

6th Grade

We have sharpened our multiplication skills by learning factor trees and how to utilize them. The class as a whole seems to understand the differences of Least Common Multiples (LCMs) and Greatest Common Factors (GCFs) and we expect to be ready to use those skills on a test coming next week.

7th Grade

As we’ve gone deeper into the measurements of angles and all of the properties of shapes that we have, we have made our way through problems that would make a geometry teacher proud. Utilizing our abilities to think creatively about how lines work and their measurements within, we have conquered some problems that contain multiple steps and deep understanding to solve.

Algebra 1

While working on what functionality means, we took a small detour into the function notation. While this is usually a subject reserved for the later days of Algebra 1, showing some examples of how it is used now will better prepare students for the future. Up next is graph manipulation!
