Social Studies Update

In sixth grade, students are continuing their study of Greece and Persia. We’re digging in to key leaders and ideas before examining Rome and its contributions and downfalls. We’ve just had one day of history class together since returning from break, as students heard from the Child Advocacy Center on Wednesday and Thursday morning during our class time.

In seventh and eighth grade, students are moving from the Revolutionary War to the foundations of American government. We discussed the Articles of Confederation as the first version and the issues within that government structure. Students did a great job thinking critically about the needs of the US government and some needed additions that came with the Constitutional Convention.
