Social Studies Update

Sixth grade students have wrapped up their study of Greece and are discussing the foundations of Rome. Today we discussed the Romans’ relationship with the Etruscans, who regularly traded with Greece. Students made great connections between Greece and Rome and the ways information and ideas, along with goods, passed between the two places.

Seventh grade students have completed their group presentations of the three branches of government and are preparing for an assessment over the checks and balances enshrined in the US Constitution. From here, we’ll study the Early Republic and Antebellum periods.

Eighth grade students are wrapping up their research of a current issue in the government, with their proposed solution. We have students looking at mental health access, healthcare policy, addiction and substance abuse, cost of living, and more. They’ll begin sharing their findings tomorrow.
