Students in sixth grade are researching various aspects of the Roman Empire, including its government, class structure, legal system, key leaders, and more. Alongside the opportunity to practice their research and argumentation skills, students are tasked with creating a physical presentation the class can view in gallery-walk format.
In seventh grade, students have been studying key moments in the early republic period of American history. They’re looking at the ways modern inventions and infrastructure helped shape the US, economically and socially. They’re doing a fantastic job engaging in discussion, asking key questions, and examining primary sources.
In eighth grade, students have continued with their study of American government and its role. They’re beginning a unit on the early republic period to support their understanding of how the early United States took its shape.
Additionally, students across middle school classes are preparing for their student-led conferences by identifying key work and creating Google Sites to share. This is a great process for them to identify their areas of growth, as well as things that remain challenging.
