Students in sixth grade wrapped up their Rome research projects today with a gallery walk. They took notes on each other’s projects and left feedback for each other throughout our class this morning. One student recreated the Twelve Tables (the basis of Roman law) on small pieces of wood. A few others opted to create books to showcase their learning. Several chose to create slideshows, while others chose to write papers. It was great to see their creative approaches to sharing their research and arguments.

In seventh grade, students began a study of 19th century immigration yesterday. Working in four groups, students are studying immigration from Germany, Ireland, Italy, and China during the 1800s.

In eighth grade, students completed a geography assessment on the 50 states yesterday and took a test over the US government this morning. From here, we’ll continue with our unit on the Early Republic.
