Middle School Music

Composition Central

Summit Middle School is hard at work devising original compositions. Our Ravens have spent the last five weeks in “Music Bootcamp” in an effort to prepare them for their first music project of the year. Students are to create an original 1-2 minute work that showcases their creative and musical prowess. Many of the Summit students take private music lessons and are eager to show off what they’ve learned! Other students are tapping into the digital age of music making and creating compositions using software like Chrome MusicLab and BandLab. The students will follow up with a reflection about their creative process, what they took away from the experience, and how they would approach their work differently next time.

The Summit Preparatory School is a fully accredited, non-religious, private school offering a full-time seated independent education for students in Springfield, Ozark, Nixa, Rogersville, and the greater Southwest Missouri area. Our preparatory school setting offers an enriching early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school curriculum in a supportive environment. We have state of the art facilities, highly-qualified teachers and staff, and a large range of educational programming. Interested in enrolling your child? Learn more about our admissions process.
