Introductory Projects in Language Arts

All middle school grades spent this week working on collaborative projects relating to their next novel studies. 6th grade is preparing to read “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl” by researching some of the history related to the time, causes and effects of the rise of fascism and anti-Semitism in Europe, and contributing factors that caused Anne and her family to go into hiding. Each group will present their finding beginning Friday.

7th and 8th grade is preparing to read “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott by working on projects related to the author’s life and works. Each group was given a different part of Alcott’s life and, when presentations begin, they will have the opportunity to teach each other about the life of this remarkable woman who many claim was well ahead of her time.
