Social Studies Update

Students in middle school have primarily been focused on ERB testing during their usual social studies time over the past several days. We took some time Tuesday to discuss wise testing strategies and good citizenship skills as far as respecting others’ needs for quiet to focus. They’re demonstrating kindness and tenacity as they tackle their tests!

When we pick up, sixth grade will be wrapping up Rome and learning about the Silk Roads and the spread of ideas, as well some major world religions. Seventh grade will be discussing the Civil War and its implications. Eighth grade will be completing their examination of early westward expansion and will prepare to discuss the ways that expansion contributed to the fracturing nation in the lead-up to the Civil War.
