Middle School Mathematics

Math Fundamentals – This week students wrapped up their work with dividing fractions. Next week we will be reviewing and learning operations with decimals. Operations with decimals and fractions are very common in the real-world and we will also be focusing most on estimating and making sense of answers.

Integrated Math – Students have completed their study of the rules for exponents and will be taking an assessment on Friday. See the photos below to see some of their work in progress and they see patterns to develop rules and check their understanding of these rules.

Algebra I – Students are continuing to work with function notation and graphs. After an assessment, they will analyze and create graphs as well as determine domain and range.

Geometry – This week Geometry students discovered connections between sides and angles in right triangles. These relationships can be used to solve for unknown values. Students formalized these connections as sine, cosine, and tangent of known angle measurements.
