Middle School Math Update – Final Stretch

6th Grade

We are wrapping up our year by working with different types of angles and calculating them. We swiftly reviewed types of triangles and how many degrees within and are now working on finding complementary, supplementary, adjacent and alternate interior angles. We’ll be discussing properties of intersecting lines and parallel lines coming up.

7th Grade

We are through our intro to algebra section and are now talking about tape diagrams and designing equations to represent them. This will involve real world problems and rearrangement to find missing variables.

Algebra 1

Our last Algebra 1 topic of rationalization has come and gone. Due to having a mixed class of 8th graders and freshman, we are now pivoting to working towards the final. Students have been given the option of a 2nd semester final with no notecard cheat sheet or taking a full course final with a note card cheat sheet. Either way this mimics classes they are likely to take in the future, specifically college courses. Grades have been fully updated so if your student isn’t happy with their grade, they can look on classroom to find and complete assignements from the past.
