Middle School Mathematics

Math Fundamentals

Sixth graders learned about multiple methods for multiplying decimals. Now they are learning about dividing with decimals. This is a challenging skill and a growth mindset is so important! Many students don’t know how to divide with decimals, YET!  Instruction, practice, and effort are key to learning something new.

Integrated Math

Integrated Math students have been using the distributive property to factor and expand expressions and have been introduced to combining like terms. They will be using these tools to solve multi-step equations with integers in the near future.

Algebra I

Algebra 1 students are wrapping up their study of creating and analyzing graphs of functions. They can identify important features of graphs including slope, domain, range, max/min, increasing, decreasing, and intercepts both on graphs and in written descriptions of scenarios. They will soon be taking an assessment over this knowledge.

Geometry

Eighth grade geometry students are sailing through our unit on solid figures. They are almost ready for a knowledge check covering cross-sections, scaling figures, and the effect of scaling on area and volume.
