Sixth grade students are wrapping up their presentations and have done a really excellent job supporting their classmates with constructive feedback oriented toward future growth. Throughout presentations, we’ve taken pauses to discuss important material, such as the Greek philosophers’ views on living the “good life” and Aristotle’s suggested virtues. We’re continuing to weave these discussions in and expand on our learning with each new presentation.
Seventh and eighth grade students finished their comparative government presentations and also put into practice supportive, constructive feedback practices. Their skills of presentation continue to progress, as well as their ability to synthesize their research findings. They completed an assessment over the presentations that asked them about power and leadership, as well as the power of the people to shape their government and society in the modern era.
Yesterday, we began studying early modern Europe, a really nice follow-up, as we’re looking at the effects of absolutism and parliamentary monarchy in major European states.
