In sixth grade, students have been continuing their study of Greek thinkers. We discussed logic and have been practicing logic puzzles throughout the week to build our understanding and skills in problem solving. We’ve also discussed ethics and their importance to societies. We’ll occasionally discuss an ethical dilemma in class to support their understanding of this topic.
Seventh grade has broken into three groups to explore the three branches of government. They’ve conducted research across a number of websites, and I was thrilled to see several reading transcripts of the US Constitution to support their understanding. They’ll begin these presentations next week.

Eighth grade students have been exploring a current challenge in the US government to support their understanding of how our system works. We’ve also built in lesson days and spent time this week discussing the role of the Executive branch. They’re doing some fantastic research into their individual issues and asking important questions, demonstrating strong critical thinking.

Geography class began last week for sixth grade students as they filled in a world map with as many details as possible. They also began their first assignment, which is to choose an African country and plan a short trip, highlighting key cultural locations in their nation of choice.
