Middle School Math Update Week 3

6th Grade

We have been covering what variables are and how to use them in equations along with developing equations from word problems. I have sent home study guides in preparation for our test next Tuesday.

7th Grade

We’ve split up our algebra section into different parts with our first one being substitution. Our next subject will be able finding slope. We began covering these topics last semester but it didn’t quite stick so by breaking them apart, that should allow us to better understand each of them individually.

Algebra 1

We’re currently on systems of equations which is taking multiple different equations and relating them to each other to find missing variables. Students have a study guide that covers various situations where these types of problems are useful.
