Middle School Science and STEM Update

6th Grade Ecology

Students are taking what they have learned about topographic maps and ecosystems to create their own island map. These islands have a variety of ecosystems, as well as weather patterns that result in some areas receiving more or less rain, and therefore having particular ecosystems as a result. This island will be turned into a 3D representation once they have completed their maps.

7th and 8th Grade Physical Science

Students have learned about the periodic table, atoms, molecules, and moles. Balancing chemical equations and determining how many moles of a new substance are produced are what students have been working on most recently, and we begin to prepare for lab activities by learning about basic lab procedures.

3D Design

Students in this class are working on a variety of projects, working on assets for video games, learning 3D sculpting, animating scenes, and even particle systems to simulate water and precipitation.
