Scoop, Seesaw, and Raise

First graders have learned all about levers. We have discovered that a lever is so simple that we often use it without knowing it.  We learned that a lever is a simple machine consisting of a stiff bar that rests on a fulcrum.  While the bar part moves up and down, the fulcrum does not. Tomorrow we will sort levers into their three classes and label pictures to identify the load, effort, and fulcrum.
