This week, we began a new author study focusing on author and illustrator David A. Adler.   Adler is author of  the well known children’s series,  A Picture Book of…, which include books on numerous inventors and famous Americans we have been and will be studying this year. Throughout this author study, we will examine a new genre of literature, biographies.  We will learn that a biography is the story of a real person’s life, written by another person.  Although our emphasis will be on biographies and the A Picture Book of… series, students will also have the opportunity to explore other Adler books such the popular mystery series, Cam Jansen.
