Body Systems

First grade has launched into our third trimester science topic, body systems.  This week, we have reviewed key concepts addressed in previous years including the five senses and basic body parts.  In preparation for new learning, we are previewing each body system, providing a general overview.  Working individually and in pairs, students have read several books about the human body.  Critical thinking skills have been taxed as students have practiced reading comprehension factual recall and personal response.   Tomorrow, we will begin our first body system, the skeletal system.
