Last week, first grade students began working with beginning blends. Beginning blends are defined as two or more consonants at the beginning of a word that make a sound in which each letter is heard. We began last week with l blends (bl, cl, fl, gl, pl, and sl) and will work this week with r blends (br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr, and tr).
