Smallin Cave

Our first field trip of the year was a huge success! Visiting Smallin Cave in Ozark Missouri, first grade students learned about the Osage tribe and their names and uses for native Missouri trees, seeds, and plants.  They observed a variety of cave life including salamanders, frogs, and crayfish as well as prehistoric fossils and cave formations including soda straws, stalactites, and stalagmites.  Thank you to each of our parent volunteers who joined us on the trip.
