Learning about the water cycle, first grade students are understanding the the process of how water moves and changes. Students are discussing key steps and terms of the process including precipitation, run off, accumulation, evaporation, transpiration, water vapor, and condensation. They have enjoyed viewing brief videos, singing and dancing to water cycle songs, sharing read alouds such as A Drop Around the World, creating a water cycle project, and diagraming the water cycle. Conducting a related experiment, we created our own water cycle and were able to see the different stages of precipitation, evaporation, and condensation!
Linear Measurement
This week in math, first graders have been working with both nonstandard and standard units as we are learning about linear measurements. Working with nonstandard
