Double Digit Addition and Beautiful Fall Weather!

Now that first graders have solidified their basic addition and subtraction skills and place value, we are diving into double digit addition and subtraction! We started yesterday with addition without regrouping. First graders learned to line up the tens and ones places, and then start with the ones place first. We will dive into subtraction and then regrouping in the coming days. Students caught on quickly to the double digit addition and were amazed at how easily they could solve each problem once they figured it out! Because the weather was so beautiful, we got to do our practice page outside in the big backyard!
