Service Learning Project

As part of a service learning project, Kindergarten, first and second grade will soon begin collecting new hats, gloves, socks and scarves in benefit of Ambassadors for Children. Ambassadors for Children supports the needs of children in foster care in Greene, Christian and Taney counties. You can drop off new hats, gloves, socks and scarves in The Summit lobby from January 29 to February 2.

This week, students colored and decorated flyers to be hung around the building to help spread the word about our upcoming project. The students will also be visiting classrooms around the building to share more details about our project with students of all ages. Today, we stopped by Early Learners! Two first graders and two kindergarteners shared about our project. The other students served as role models for our younger friends by demonstrating excellent audience behavior. Although speaking in front of a group seem a bit daunting (one of our spelling words this week!), the students have been eager to give it their best shot! So far, they’ve done a wonderful job serving as leaders in our school.
